Movieland Lake Garda – Experiences & Tips for Families
Movie-themed park with action shows, stunts, and water attractions – very different from classic theme parks on Lake Garda.
Movieland is not a typical theme park with lots of roller coasters. Instead, the focus is on shows, action experiences, and interactive attractions – which means the visit can be either a real highlight or somewhat disappointing, depending on expectations.
If you want to compare different parks, it’s also worth taking a look at Gardaland or Caneva Aquapark.
What Makes Movieland Unique
Focus on Shows Rather Than Rides
The biggest difference compared to Gardaland: many highlights are scheduled shows. If you miss them, you miss a large part of the experience.
Interactive and Water-Based Attractions
Some attractions are intentionally “chaotic” and interactive – including water effects, splashes, and direct audience involvement.
Smaller but Differently Structured
The park is much more compact than Gardaland. Distances are short – but some visitors feel they’ve “seen everything” more quickly.

Movieland Reviews – What Visitors Say
Not a classic theme park
Many visitors are surprised that there are far fewer rides than expected. The focus is clearly on shows and experiences rather than roller coasters.
Shows define the day
If you miss the main shows, it can feel like you haven’t experienced enough. Planning is much more important here than in other parks.
Waiting times are less of an issue
Compared to Gardaland, waiting times are often much shorter. Instead, there are gaps between shows that you should plan for.
Very mixed reviews
While some visitors see it as a highlight, others are disappointed. It depends on whether you expect shows and interaction – or classic rides.
Some attractions feel “chaotic”
Certain attractions are intentionally unconventional and less structured. This isn’t for everyone, but it creates a different kind of experience.
Often better for younger children
Since fewer extreme rides are the focus, younger children often find the park more suitable than traditional theme parks.
Movieland: What to Know Before You Go
Check show times in advance
The main shows run at fixed times. If you don’t know the schedule, you can easily miss the highlights of the day.
Plan your day actively
Unlike classic theme parks, it’s worth structuring your day in advance – especially around the show schedule.
Prepare for water attractions
Several attractions involve water. Bringing a change of clothes – or at least being prepared – is a good idea.
Combine with other parks
Many visitors combine Movieland with Caneva or Gardaland. For some, Movieland alone may feel limited for a full day.
Arrive early
Getting there early helps you plan the key shows better and gives you more flexibility throughout the day.
Adjust your expectations
If you expect many roller coasters, you may be disappointed. If you enjoy shows and unusual experiences, you’ll likely have a much better time.
Movieland Location, Prices & Opening Hours
Opening Hours
Movieland is usually open from April to October. Opening hours vary by season, but as a general guideline, the park opens at 10 am and closes between 6 pm (low season) and 11 pm (high season).
From October onwards, the park is often closed on weekdays but may remain open on weekends.
Prices & Tickets
Day tickets are typically valid for one visit within the same year and usually range between €29 and €46. Children under 100 cm enter free of charge. Particularly popular are combination tickets with the nearby Caneva Aquapark, which are available for a small additional fee.
Many visitors choose this combination, as Movieland alone can feel “completed” relatively quickly.
